The Hazrat-e-Masumeh shrine, the spiritual center of the Qom, is the second sacred place in Iran. This shrine is the burial place of Fateme-e-Masumeh, sister of Imam Reza, and three daughters of the Imam Muhammad- Jawaad.
At the young ages, she tried to meet her brother in Mashhad city, but at the way she became ill and passed away in Qom. The shrine specially erected for her memory and because she was a close relative to the twelve Imams, the shrine becomes a popular site of pilgrimage.
The construction of the shrine has three courtyards, three prayer halls, three domes and six minarets. There is also a museum inside the mosque. The shrine is approximately 150 kilometers from Tehran (1.5hours). every year lots of people come from all over the world to visit and pray for the notable lady. Non-Muslims also allowed to enter the shrine’s special parts.
